STORIA UNIVERSALE DELL’ARTE 37
Limited edition of 5
Silkscreen printed on 60gsm paper and spraypaint
96 pages
The screen-printed book was conceived and produced in London. during a three-month membership discount at a screen printing studio called 3R Rail. Ludovico printed at least 20 copies of each book, resulting in a total of approximately 1,900 pages. To stay within budget, he developed a unique technique that defined the book’s aesthetic. Instead of using only ink on the screens, he sprayed water, allowing him to print more pages with less ink. This approach created organic textures and distorted images that elevated the book’s overall aesthetic compared to the original product. Unfortunately, some of the screens suffered from Ludovico’s aggressive creative flow and
broke. However, he chose to keep the damaged silk screens, preparing them for exhibition as part of his artistic journey. Later, he painted the internal pages of the book with spray paint to add texture and an evocative, gassy smell—a scent that. Ludovico fondly remembers from his days in Berlin when he would travel to Poland to spray trains with his friends.
